do these m-Fc plates use Rosolic Acid in the make up? Also how long is the expiration?
Yes, the rosalic acid is part of the media preparation. All that is required is to filter your sample as per your normal procedures and the carefully place the filter, grid side up, in the plate on top of the media. Incubate at the proper temperature for the proper time. No pads or additional media are required. The expiration is 60 days from preparation.
Having problems with some of my filters not sticking to the media. Do i need to keep them filter facing up when i put them in the water bath? please help.
It is important to roll your filter onto the media in order to prevent any air bubbles in between the media and the filter. If there are air bubbles you do not have good contact between the filer and media and the bacteria do not have contact with nutrients to grow. This can also cause the filter to fall off the media when incubating. Orienting the plates upside down is important and should be followed as well.
