Question/Answer

What is the seawater volume capacity that can be filtered using 3M OIl Disk ?

The salinity of the sample should make the oil and grease more likely to be absorbed by the Empore Oil & Grease disks. However, the sample should still be acidified to make sure that any fatty acids and functionalized lipids are neutralized so that they can be absorbed by the hydrophobic Oil & Grease disks. The sample pH should be about 2 and high salt in the sample should not be a problem.\r\nWith this being said a standard 1-L volume would certainly be fine as would potentially larger volumes.
