Question/Answer

Is the base of your # SC601 completely flat ? We are using the CPI 50 mL tube at this moment, and the base of the tube is not completely flat.

The SC601 cup is mostly flat on the bottom. It does stand up on its own but the bottom of the cup has a small dimple that is concave up into the bottom of the cup. The SC475 vessel is completely flat on the bottom with no dimple at all. It is a screw cap instead of a snap cap.

Are these verified for leachable metals and are these the same tubes as SC414 but with caps?

The SC415 and the SC414 are the same sample vials, the SC415 come with caps and the SC414 do not. Certificates of analysis are included with these vials showing metals background.

How can one LOT number cover so many products example: #1012151

Lot #s for the various parts molded here at Environmental Express are based on the partent resin used for those parts. Those parts that use the same type of plastic are often molded with the same lot of resin material.

could you please tell me exact diameter of this tube. Thanks

Our SC475 tube is 39.45mm diameter at the bottom and 30.25mm diameter at the top, just below the screw threads. The height of the cup is 106mm.

HOW MUCH WATER DO I USE FOR MY PROBE TEMP TUBE?

If you are using a separate vessel to monitor temperature I would attempt to make it as closely related to your samples as possible so use the same volume as your samples.

What are the dimensions of the vessels? We have a CPI Mod Block and aren\'t sure if they will fit?

The SC475 cups are 34.5mm x 109mm. We also offer part # SC601 which is the snap cap cup specific to the CPI block.

are their pressur caps avaialbe for use on these?

Pressure caps are not available for this vessel.

what is the maximum temperature for these?

PFA (Teflon) has a maximum, continuous temperature of 260 deg C.

what pressure is the cap desighted to pop off at?, what is the cap made of.

The cap is plastic. It is not designed to pop off at any given temperature--it is merely a cap to contain the liquid in the vessel.

can these be capped, and what is the max pressure rating

There is no threading to this cup--it has a beaded lip to it and could potentially be stoppered. The cup is made of borosilicate glass.

Are these digestion cups \'Class A\' calibrated?

By definition, plastic vessels can not be Class A volumetric devices--only glass vessels can. While the sample cups meet the Class A requirements of a graduated cylinder they are considered to be Class B because they are made of plastic.

Do you have a price break on the 100 ml digestion tubes if I purchase so many boxes at a time?

Please contact sales@envexp.com for any pricing questions.

Are these suitable for heating on a regular hot plate?

The SC490 cups are made of polypropylene and have a temperature rating of up to 130 deg C so as long as the temperature is below this the cups will be fine.

What are the dimensions of the SC999?

18\" wide X 19.75\" deep X 18\" tall.

What is the highest conc acid (HF/HNO3/HCL) you can use with the tubes? Whats the maximum temperature, and what max time digestion\'s can take place?

The maximum temperature polypropylene will withstand is 130 deg C before it melts. The longer the tubes are exposed to high temperature the more brittle the plastic will become. Typical digestion times, following US EPA methods, is around 6 or 7 hours for a maximum. \r\nThese methods also typically use concentrated nitric, sulfuric, and hydrochloric acids though they are added to water samples. Small amounts of these may also be added to soil samples (around 1g of soil) and the polypropylene cups have held up well in those types of digestions. Hydrofluoric acid at room temperature is fine with polypropylene but may cause issues at elevated temperatures.

Is 125mL the largest volume vessel made? I am looking to use the flipmate, but need to filter @250mLs.

We have Flipmate devices available for both our 50mL vessels and our 125mL vessels. Unfortunately we do not have a larger vessel that will accept the Flipmate.

Can caps only be bought?

Yes--you can purchase a 500pk of green caps only as part # SC475-C or white caps only as part# SC475-CW.
