Pre-prepared Media Plates are available for Enterococci (US EPA Method 1600). These prepared plates come ready-to-use and include prepared media in a sterile petri dish. Every order ships with date stamp tag on each sleeve and includes a Quality Control Document. Shipping method may vary depending on location. mEI plates will appear light to medium amber in color.  Enterococci will appear as a well-defined colony surrounded by a blue halo. Procedure:

1. Filter volume of sample through filter to produce 20 60 colonies.
2. Roll filter onto the mEI Agar to avoid the formation of air bubbles between the filter and agar surface.
3. Invert inoculated plates and incubate for 24 +/- 2 hours at 41 +/- 0.5 deg C.
4. After incubation, count and record the number of colonies with a blue halo.
5. Report number of CFU per 100 mls of sample.
