Sample Cleanup Cartridges

Many EPA methodologies suggest a cleanup procedure for organic sample prior to analysis by chromatographic methods to remove interfering compounds by sample clean-up cartridges.  Florosil cleanup (EPA 3620C) cartridges are most popular and used when the analytes of interest include PCB's, phthalate esters, haloethers, organophosphate pesticides, organochlorine pesticides, nitrosamines, chlorinated hydrocarbons and other compounds. The use of activated silica cartridges, outlined in EPA 3630Cis used for PAH's, derivatized phenolic compounds, organochlorine compounds and PCB's as Aroclors. The use of a five gram activated silica cartridge is required for Massachusetts EPH, now required in several states. Alumina sample clean-up cartridges are used for cleanup by EPA 3610 and EPA 3611 and targeted phthalate esters, nitrosamines and petroleum wastes. All clean up cartridges from Environmental Express are supplied pre-activated and supplied vacuum sealed to maintain their activity level.
