Borosilicate Glass Fiber 1.5 micron
These 1.5 micron Borosilicate filters are typically used for solids testing in wastewater. There are also some air monitoring applications.
Filters are ALWAYS IN STOCK. Various diameters and sizes available.
Comparable to Whatman 934-AH and Gelman A/E, or Millipore type AP40.
Our new ProTemp binderless borosilicate glass fiber filter material is a significant improvement to existing filters. The material is more weight stable at volatile temperature of 550°C. Previously, many lots of filter material were rejected for use as VSS product due to their inability to meet our quality control criteria for weight stabilization after high temperature heating. Now, every lot of our ProTemp filter material is more stable than even the best lots of other manufacturer's material.
Question/Answer
where are these filters made?
These filters are produced at our facility in Charleston SC.
Wich side is up during sampling and why?
The two sides of this filter paper are difficult to tell apart. The top side of the filter paper does not have any distinguishable pattern to it. It appears to have irregularities in the material that look like wrinkles in the fibers. The bottom side will show some wrinkles, but there is also a base pattern that looks as if the material has been pressed down onto a fine screen. Depending on how the material has been handled, there may be some creases in the filter paper. These are not the wrinkles mentioned previously. You can tell the difference by the fact that there will be identical marks on the top and bottom at that location. The wrinkled side should be used ‘up’. This is to give the maximum amount of filtration area to the liquid being filtered.
Are your borosilicate filters prewashed?
Part numbers that start with FG85 are not pre-washed. These are simply the raw filter. Pre-washed and dried filters start with F92. The equivalent to the FG85025MM in a pre-washed filter is F92424MM.
