The temperature range is ambient + 5°C to 130°C.

We do recommend that the evaporative step in Oil & Grease be performed in a fume hood as hexane vapors are released during this process.

I use 40 mL vial. Is it possible to customise for it?

We cannot customize the G7000 to fit 40 mL vials.

how we get know when the hexane had finished the evaporate?

The only way to know when the hexane is done is to monitor the progress. You may be able to develop an approximate time frame by recording the conditions and the time required over several samples in your lab.

Instead of G1045 flasks, can I use 40 mL vials ?

Using 40 mL vials in this evaporator could potentially cause problems. While the vials would fit inside the evaporating positions, there would be nothing to hold them securely in place. Also, because the vials are a straight walled vessel, the force of the gas blowing on the surface of the liquid would be prone to causing splashing of the solvent to be evaporated and loss of the product. Using 40 mL vials is not recommended for this unit.

The maximum temperature is 130 C.

Does the QuikVap Evaporating System have EPA approval for use in EPA Method 1664A for Oil & Grease?

The EPA no longer grants approval to specific pieces of equipment. It is up to the individual to comply with requirements from methods. With that in mind, the QuikVap provides a heating manifold that will accommodate up to 6 round bottom flasks or aluminum pans and simultaneously evaporate the solvent. It provides a continuous flow of inert gas through the container instead of waiting for the last 15 seconds of the evaporation. This allows the hexane fumes to be removed more efficiently and increases the rate of evaporation from the dish without jeopardizing low boiling constituents through temperature elevation.
